JMLR submission · journal template and open-review culture

JMLR is a journal, not a conference. Write a full article—do not paste a raw 9-page conference PDF.

Length and template

No NeurIPS-style hard cap, but past ~35 pages (including appendices) review slows; past ~50 needs a cover-letter justification or desk reject.

Use the unmodified official JMLR journal template; submit a clean LaTeX PDF numbered from page 1.

Submission process

Submit via JMLR’s system plus a cover letter suggesting at least three conflict-free action editors. Journal review—not a conference double-blind pack.

Conference extensions must spell out the delta. After acceptance, fill heading, short title, and editor fields as in the example.
