What to change for camera-ready

Updated 2026-09

Acceptance only starts production. Camera-ready must satisfy promised revisions, layout/length, restored authorship and ethics text, plus copyright/registration admin.

Content and length

Implement the acceptance conditions: experiments, clarified claims, fixes. Final page caps may differ from submission (e.g. one extra page after discussion)—over-length can still be blocked.

Do not use camera-ready to swap the thesis or insert unreviewed core claims; ask the PC/editor before a rewrite that changes the paper’s identity.

Restoring identity after blind review

Restore authors, affiliations, corresponding email, acknowledgments, and grant IDs; make self-cites natural again while staying accurate. Align headers, supplements, and code links with the public version.

If a Chinese journal needs Word for production, verify math and figures survive conversion and keep a compilable source backup.

  • Author order matches the portal
  • Ethics/reproducibility/COI finalized as required
  • Figure resolution and font embedding per the publisher checklist

Admin you should not leave for the last hour

Copyright, OA choices, registration proof, invoices, DOI forms—any missing piece stalls production. Corresponding authors should checklist signatures from all authors.

After upload, download the generated proof and check spelling, math, and line breaks page by page.

FAQ

Change experimental conclusions at camera-ready?
Fix errors; changing the core claim or adding large unreviewed material needs PC/editor approval—or risk withdrawal.
Limits on acknowledgments?
Some venues constrain whether acknowledgments count toward length or may name anonymous reviewers. Follow the camera-ready note; do not turn thanks into a second related-work section.
