Which file to send
Pick the file that matches what they need to do.
- Word
- They will rewrite sentences with Track Changes.
- They only need layout and page count.
- Blind PDF
- Double-blind: no names on page one.
When the Word file comes back
Open their Word, then edit the matching parts in the workbench. Click Update preview. Do not re-upload the whole .docx over the paper—you will scramble later edits.
- You type math, figures, and cites back. Word numbering will not match.
- Several people on Word: files come back to you. Do not let them mail each other.
When to upload Word
Word is all you have, and this paper is not in My papers yet: New paper → upload. If you already edit it here, do not re-upload after every comment round.
FAQ
- The equations in Word do not match the preview.
- Trust the workbench preview. Type the math again here; do not paste a screenshot.
- Can they type in the invite link?
- No. The link is comments only. Send Word, or you type the change.
