Deadlines and author lists
Many venues take an abstract before the PDF; author lists often freeze after the abstract deadline. Late adds or reorders may be blocked or treated as violations.
Align registration email and affiliations with the planned byline early—do not discover mismatches at full-paper time.
Public review, private identity
Reviews and author responses may be visible to the community (policy varies by year), but the PDF must stay anonymous. Do not reveal labs, grant IDs, or “I am from group X” in the reply.
When arXiv is allowed, keep third-person cites; do not paste identity-leaking links into the discussion.

Discussion etiquette and strategy
Rebuttals work best clarifying factual errors and experiment scope—not point-scoring every sentence. If you need new results, check whether that year’s rules allow them in discussion.
Restore names and acknowledgments only in the post-accept public version; until then, also check your OpenReview profile for identifying material.
