Where is my paper? Is it gone if I close the tab?

Updated 2026-09

After you sign in, open My papers in the top bar. That list is your drafts. Open workbench to keep editing.

Where to find it

My papers is the list. Open workbench is where you type: outline, body, preview. Same email on another computer, same papers.

My papers
See your drafts. Open, download, or share.
Open workbench
Edit the text. Click Update preview to see layout.
Knowledge
PDFs for this paper. Not the draft itself.
Experiment
Runs and figures. Put them in the draft when they are ready.

Why the preview did not change

The preview on the right does not follow every keystroke. Click Update preview when you want a new look. The first time is slower.

Files you download

Download gives you PDF, Word, LaTeX, or slides—to send or to submit. A sentence you fix in Word does not change the paper here. To keep an edit, change it in the workbench.

  • Already have Word or LaTeX: New paper → upload.
  • Submitting to a journal: use Submit to pack files. Do not upload an old download.

FAQ

Can I write without internet?
The workbench needs a connection. Download Word before you leave, then type the edits back later.
The draft is already on my computer.
New paper → upload Word, LaTeX, Markdown, or a ZIP. Not PDF.
